Northumberland is home to more castle sites than any other county in England (over 70) . Your base here in West Thirston allows for easy access to the A1 for Alnwick, Lindisfarne, Bamburgh and many others including stunning homes such as Cragside. Or take the coastal route for a more leisurely drive to our many historical gems.

Simply walk out the door at the dipper's nest and you are on the famous St Oswald's way. Turn right to head down river towards Warkworth, or up river towards Rothbury.
