Situated at the mouth of the River Aln, this picturesque village is in an area of outstanding natural beauty. With it's splendid beach, golf course, pubs and gift shops, Alnmouth remains a visitors favourite. Only ten miles from Felton or 12 if one takes in another gem on the way, Warkworth. Taking the minor road B6345 via Acklington, visitors can also choose to start a coastal discovery by visiting the port of Amble first, gateway to Coquet Island.
The Ferryman’s Hut in Alnmouth harbour,is the smallest museum in Northumberland. Originally used by ferrymen when they would row passengers back and forth across the River Aln. The last ferryman was believed to have stopped working in the 1960s, and the museum is donned with pictures and stories of him and his predecessors.
